Bodega x New Balance 997S “Better Days”

First teased on social media almost a month ago, the New Balance 997S “Better Days” has just officially been announced by Bodegaahead of its September 25th launch date.

The third (and conclusion) in a series of New Balance collaborations rooted in the encouragement of the individual spirit, the pair’s concept is more fitting now than it arguably was when ideation began over five months ago. While “Better Days” has an umbrella definition relating to peace and good health that Society would agree on, those two words may manifest differently to each and every person. To obtain more personalized stories related to the concept behind their third sporty 997, Bodega tapped artists the likes of SOSUPERSAM, Jordan Moss and Victoria Adrian to share their creative processes and mindsets.

The dark grey suede at the toe of the forthcoming 997S is a nod to the original model, while the shades of tan and yellow across the midfoot ostensibly mimic a sunrise in the desert. Furthermore, a textured, vibrant crimson hue around the collar pairs well with the brown and purple that animates the heel; a western-like graphic on the neon green sockliner tie these arguably disparate colors together, while further associating the “Better Days” theme to the outdoors. Underfoot, ABZORB and ENCAP technologies forgo any sunset-inspired palette, but still make statements with their high-vis green tooling and signature comfort.
