Off-White x Nike Rubber Dunk

Ever since Virgil Abloh moved on from “The Ten,” the designer has been able to stretch his legs just a bit more, allowed to turn his head to the athleticism of Nike runners, the influence of the Dunk Low, and the iconic look of the Air Jordan 4 and 5. But because many of the aforementioned borrowed the template of existing silhouettes, his newly debuted Rubber Dunk was a pleasant surprise as it effectively marks the Off-White head’s most original departure.

Teased multiple times prior via official fashion week showings and appearances on social media, the silhouette is currently poised to release first thing October in three colorways, all loosely inspired by tested color pairings. Nods to UNC arrive adjacent to the Off-White label’s signature orange details and hangtag, the cool tone used as a decal to a backdrop primarily replete with metallic silver. Gum soles arrive below for yet another lifestyle element, while laces bear the quoted text that has become synonymous with Virgil himself. In slight deviation, the black option is far more subdued along the suede, leather, and mesh construction, though it does set itself apart with louder hits of a saturated, seemingly radioactive green; a yellow alternate then rounds off the trio with a notable monochromatic approach as the focal hue dresses the upper near entirely above a blacked out tooling.
