SpongeBob SquarePants x Nike Kyrie 5 “SpongeBob” & “Patrick Star”

Excitement around the impending release of the SpongeBob Nike Kyrie collection is understandably high, and ahead of its debut in August, official images of SpongeBob’s own Nike Kyrie 5 have been revealed. Dressed in SpongeBob’s signature vivid yellow colorway and featuring brown/red accents on the midsole and outsole, these Kyries are then stuffed full of sponge-themed details. The entire upper is covered with golden dots as a nod to the cartoon legend’s porous body, while the lateral side Swoosh is given a playful squiggly makeover. The standard eye-of-Horus detail on the heel and KI tongue badge are both gone as well, replaced instead by a cartoon-y fonts. SpongeBob’s grinning mug graces the insole, a Nickelodeon logo appears on the Venus flytrap-inspired lace overlay, and a “signature” appears on the tongue’s inner lining to complete the look. Kyrie Irving‘s appreciation for the beloved cartoon is well-known, and you’ll be able to share in his fandom come August 10th when these unique Nike shoes release for $130 USD. Check out a full set of official images directly below, and stay tuned for updates on the rest of the pack as they’re available.
.                                                               With ing their own Nike Kyrie 5, it’s Spongebob‘s lovable idiot best friend, Patrick Star, who may ironically have the brightest. No longer under a rock, the pair is a near perfect footwear translation of the TV star’s likeness, with loud pinks arriving throughout its every upper accent. Dotted prints, in connection to his starfish exterior, scatter in perpetuity across with the overlaid eye stay almost mimicking his silhouette. Swooshes outline in darker shade with speckled inners adding notable contrast, sole units don vibrant greens much like his swim trunks, and even the character’s face gleefully rests along the insole. Branding, in the form of the tongue logo and “NIKE” on the heel, contort to the playful typography signature to the series. Be sure to grab a detailed peek at the pair right below and find it rolling out to Nike.com on August 10th....
